I was thinking Hana looked nothing like Coach Fukuda so nice that it was revealed that she is his sister-in-law.

It was funny how Ashito spoke up in that situation, I'm glad Fukuda is a chill guy and didn't put him down but instead apologized for not giving him all the details lol. I also really liked seeing how excited Fukuda was upon seeing Ashito in action, it's that raw intensity that just makes it intriguing to see.

Ohtomo actually realized what Ashito was trying to pull off so that was cool, I can see why he was selected as well other than the reasons that were already given.

Looked like Fukuda was playing with an invisible controller lol

Why people dont watch this anime ? no moe? no isekai?
Its good to watch anime like this

Nobody knows about it yet its 2nd ep only and its overshadowed by bluelock which is animated by mappa even tho its not out yet cause hey its mappa

Yashondowski • 2 years ago

Blue lock is getting animated by 8-bit, the studio that animated Slime tensura.
Not mappa

Kirito • 2 years ago

I really thought ashito was struggling to get that ball out but he was waiting for a teammate to pass the ball or he was waiting for those defenders to go after him so ashito can use his longshot that's a clever thinking

Lord Phazer • 1 year ago

As of this moment the three good football manga, thats ongoing are Ao Ashi, Be Blues and Blue Lock. All three are great, and I think many readers would admit that overall, Be Blues and Ao Ashi are greater than Blue Lock, but BL got mentioned by Attack on Titan's writer and it got a huge boost and an anime adaptation.

Ranie Lungay Malunes • 1 year ago

Haven't read Be Blues yet but I think Blue Lock is good in it's own way. Ao Ashi just leans more with Reality

Igor Tsekhan • 1 year ago

your thought is completely wrong, blue lock is finally a unique spin on teamwork oriented sport stories

Lord Phazer • 1 year ago

Nah man, Blue Lock is like that one hit wonder. You will get dragged into its world and what it says and thats why its great. But once done, you wont remember or visit it again to reread again and again. Generally speaking of course and in comparison to others.

Igor Tsekhan • 1 year ago

for me it was special, the idea of ego in sports is very interesting and i thoroughly enjoyed the manga, though i definitely prefer aoashi for the characters and more lighthearted feel but blue lock will still always have a special place in my heart

Lord Phazer • 1 year ago

True, it was special and I was so very engrossed in the series as I read through the manga. I was giving out praises, being excited and all that. Its just once I caught up to the latest chapter, and went on to read all the updated chapters; coming back to Blue Lock as it got updated, I lost that shine it had when i was binge reading.

losing 12-0, and then blaming it on controller :"D

Kirito • 2 years ago

I feel like that guy that scored the goal with his head was not accepted that guy was so angry seeing ashito score the goal by himself and not passing to him and at the end he thumbs up to ashito and I think that's the last time we will see him

Nan Demo K(Nai)ves • 2 years ago

LOL.

Kirito • 2 years ago

Hana is a step-sister/half-sister (their parents got married). I originially thought Hana has a sister married to coach Fukuda.

Kirito • 2 years ago

Ashito should have help Hana pick that thing because ashito suddenly bumps into Hana but instead he just said sorry and did some chatting to change the subject

Freddy D. • 2 years ago

othomo might become a strategist for the team :D

Kirito • 2 years ago

That ohtomo guy is the reason why ashito suddenly remembers that his playing style is wrong they need to work together and that ohtomo guy is the one that told that guy to go in that place so he used his head to score the goal and ohtomo has the name tomo I think it's friend Tomodachi

QuadL • 2 years ago

Mid-fielder captain!

Honestly this will be better than haikyuu, cause hana chan carry the show

HimmelTheHero • 2 years ago

Doesn't make sense to me because high football IQ doesn't translate to skills and being able to pull things off. Sure you can communicate with your team, but when it comes down to it you need the skills to match. I supposed theyre looking to coach him and train him properly to make him a high valuable asset probably a captain or vc to help coordinate with the team since he can analyze and read other players actions

Jspfrr • 2 years ago

If you're talking about otomo then he's actually a decent player, he's not lacking in skills (ashito is more lacking in this sense), it's just that his technical play isn't anything exceptional so it's understandable that they were saying that he didn't do anything of note. In this case, the points they mentioned are what put him apart from the rest so they gave him another chance. Skills can be improved but attitude is harder to train & yet also necessary in a team.

QuadL • 2 years ago

Well expressed.

Astolfo-kun • 2 years ago

That was a great shot, accurately passing it to his Teammate.

Anime & Rutabagas • 2 years ago

And the pass was totally not pure luck lol

Its the instinct like the time hinata jumped the volley ball on the first ep of haikyuu
Thats the level of this anime

Kirito • 2 years ago

Ashito wasn't even sure if the ball will shoot but that long pass of ashito was so well done and a perfect pass ashito body just kinda moves on its own without him thinking that's so cool

Wasa B • 2 years ago

And the teammate actually acknowledged him instead of feeling jealous. Ahh, sportsmanship at its finest

A man is but a thinking reed lol

Jspfrr • 2 years ago

This is actually an important point in the story as well. Hana was quoting French philosopher Blaise Pascal; the full quote is: “Man is only a reed, the weakest in nature, but he is a thinking reed. There is no need for the whole universe to take up arms to crush him: a vapour, a drop of water is enough to kill him. But even if the universe were to crush him, man would still be nobler than his slayer, because he knows that he is dying and the advantage the universe has over him. The universe knows none of this.”

The significance to the story is that it's sort of a word play, because Ashito's name is actually made of the characters reed (葦) + man (人). Hearing "ashi" in ashito's name, one would first think that it's ashi for legs (足) bc, you know, it's a football anime lol. But the Ashi in Ashito's name actually means reed, not leg, although they're pronounced the same way the characters are different. The significance to the story is one you'll see later but basically ashito's growth has a lot to do with thinking and not thinking. That's all I'll say for now!

QuadL • 2 years ago

Yeah, let's not over think it...

Kirito • 2 years ago

His body just kinda moves on its own

5000 yen for the thing and ashing didn't even get to have that second food he's so energetic

Jspfrr • 2 years ago

As a manga reader I cannot stress how GOOD this is. The first two episodes are just setting the scene and slowly introducing characters but there's so so much to look forward to. It's a realistic take on football, with an author who did proper research on past and current football. As a football fan it was fun to see references to some of my favourite players and clubs lol. In any case, please stick around. The characters will go through a LOT and it's very exciting and fulfilling to follow. I can confidently say it has the potential to be one of the best sport animes.

QuadL • 2 years ago

We're counting on it.
